BACK STORY
After a long shift, Alex left the office well past midnight. Construction blocked his usual route home, forcing him to take the infamous forest road. Dark tales surrounded this pathโwhispers of eerie disappearances and haunted souls. Yet, it was his only option.
The storm began as he entered the forest. Rain lashed against the windshield, and the dense canopy overhead turned the road into a tunnel of shadows. His headlights struggled to pierce the gloom, and the wind howled through the trees, making them groan ominously.
Shadows flitted at the edges of his vision, and every twist and turn looked the same. Anxiety gnawed at him. Was he still on the right path, or hopelessly lost? Lightning flashed, revealing the way forward for a heartbeat before plunging it back into darkness.
Suddenly, a faint light appeared ahead. Hope surged within him. He accelerated, desperate to reach it. But as he rounded the final bend, the forest seemed to close tighter, the darkness thickening.
Would he find his way home, or join the lost souls of the forest? The answer remained hidden in the shadows.
