MaisA completely unexpected announcement, Path of Exile Mobile is exactly what it sounds like: a mobile version of the free-to-play action RPG. Grinding Gear announced the game with a silly trailer that pokes fun at the idea of making a mobile game--it's pretty great. The game is only an "experiment" for the studio, and as such, Grinding Gear hasn't committed to actually releasing it at this stage.
I first heard about PoE mobile right after DI was announced but I have heard so little about progress in its development since then that I am starting to think it's not going to happen. If it's just a direct port of the existing game, why is it taking 5 years to develop? I still want the game but I'm sick of waiting on it. Is GGG waiting until everyone is completely sick of playing this game to release the mobile version? Blizzard claimed the excuse that they were trying to figure out how to monetize a free to play game when DI took forever but GGG can't cop out to that. What's their excuse gonna be?
