The Battle Cats is a Fun Time-Killer With Lots and Lots of crazy Cats... And Engrish!

Translate
I played The Battle Cats a long while ago, and as I missed the game, I decided to play it again. It certainly is a fun and wacky game with plenty of rather peculiar cats... as well as Engrishu. And as played the game once again, I found it to be as ridiculous (in a good way) as I remembered it.
The story (yes, there is in fact an actual story in all of this) Battle Cats have appeared and are taking over the world and the moon. Countries cannot fight back because cats are just too cute. Yeah, that does not make sense, but just roll with it.
As stated by the picture above, there is not much of a learning curve and is very much a "turn off your brain and just have fun" sort of game. The game is pretty simple, your base churns out some Battle Cats to fight enemy forces (mostly other animals) and you upgrade your cats while in battle to make them stronger, until they push back your enemies and you destroy their base. And in each game, each enemy destroyed generates money, which in turn can buy more reinforcements. Players can also recruit much stronger cats to help them win. However, the levels are really repetitive with varying degrees of difficulty.
The game is crazy and ridiculous, and that is what makes it fun. The artwork looks like kids were the ones who drew the cats, and it adds to its charm. While I often hate on bad art design and graphics, I give this one a pass as they intended the designs to be that goofy, and it works!
And to add to the ridiculousness, the game also has a ton of Engrish! Yes, the Japanese style of butchered English language is quite abundant in the game. I really find it funny, and they add some charm into the game.
The Good:
The game is weird and goofy and ridiculous, The childish designs fit the game quite well, and the gameplay part is not bad either. The Bad:
Levels can be repetitive, and often lack any further gimmicks to make it more varied.
Final Verdict:
Don't let the purposely bad art design fool you, this game is really fun. Spent hours playing this game in my old phone, and rediscovered that it's still fun a couple of years later.
