Paratroopers use their homemade handgliders to fly at low altitudes, thus bypassing dangerous ground traps.

Yet, due to the low altitude their gliders fly at, they still fall for aerial traps. Another question is WHERE they'll eventually land, as at their current level of technology they cannot control the direction of the wind very well.
