At the start of the game I was enjoying it enough to warrant keep playing, and I seriously doubted that I would get attached to these characters, I thought they were just cute anime girls that were sweet and innocent to make the eventual dark twist even darker. I was wrong. This game isn't just some sweet then not so sweet game to give you a little scare. This game makes you attached to these characters and give you in my opinion some of the hardest decision I've honestly had to make in a videogame, because you know deep in your mind that no matter what you pick someone is going to get hurt, there is always someone that suffers, and when the writing is a as good as it is in this game with characters that you get so emotionally attached too because of how realistic their inner struggles are, these decisions become extremely hard. I really think that unlike other games this one really has something to say, and a true purpose to exist. I don't think there is really anything like Doki Doki, nothing in this genre comes close to deep attachment that I felt for these characters, because their struggle just seemed so real.

If you liked the deep themes DDLC explored cloaked in an unassuming presentation you may want to look at OMORI. It's a decent enough RPG exploring themes of trauma and depression. Made me ugly sob a couple of times.

I enjoy anime about cute girls doing cute things in high school clubs, so the opening of DDLC was no chore for me. The characters are likeable and the dialogue is fun. And it's so brief, too: there are visual novels out there that spend 10 or 20 hours on silly school fun before the more serious stuff kicks in.

Oh the game is horror bc u see it looks innocent enough in the beginning if u want to get I worse well u can cause u can ruin your own game. But still the game is still horror..

I think the jump scare is the least of your concern about the game. Please take that warning at the beginning seriously. It's a pretty common warning, but this time, I think it's actually important to many people. After the first route, I did not feel good for a week.
