Zoey’s Journey - Love & Pain : Worth Playing?

A match-3 puzzle adventure game for mobile devices, Zoey's Journey: Love & Pain has a compelling plot and a tonne of enjoyable challenges to solve. The premise of this game, in which a betrayed woman, “Zoey”, seeks to lead a new life apart from her betraying husband. You will be playing as the woman in this game and you will be moving away from your cheating husband to start a new life. In the story, you will be receiving a lot of aids from your family and friend. To continue with story progression, you will have to solve match-3 puzzles. The puzzles are pretty intriguing with lots of different formats, lots of colorful orbs/elements, boosters and cool animation effects. The puzzle-solving can be incredibly satisfying to watch with smart gameplay strategies. Apart from all of this, you will have your loyal and super cut cat, Nacho, always with you who will always try to comfort and cheer you up with a cute meow.

I found it quite cute and adorable to see our cute cat trying to give us comfort in its cute meow language. The game does translate the meow language on what it means as well. The 2D graphics are pretty doable in the portrait mode. Though, 3D graphics could have made the game more enjoyable and interesting in my opinion. The story content in the game is good with its real life-like approach. As they say “Revenge is best served cold”, the cheated wife in this game is trying to start a great life without her husband to show him, how things are much better without him. But the husband seems to be quite persistent to get his wife back by calling her or messaging her over and over again. Though the story plot is good, I found it quite cliché. For those players, who love heartbreak and romantic dramas, this game will surely match their expectations.

In conclusion, I believe that this game is quite “worth playing” as a side game with lots of quick match-3 puzzles to solve. It has a linear path gameplay and does lack a lot of other various gameplay modes. 3D graphics and good character voice-overs could have made this game much better. Nacho will always feel you make loved and wanted with her adorable appearance and meow.
