Don't miss out on the surprising magic of Blast Knights
Blast Knights is the kind of game I want to truly dislike, but I just can’t because it’s so goddamn jaunty and charming… and there’s something to be said for that.

At its core, Blast Knights is a “match the shapes and colors” game that I’ve played a thousand times before, but it does such a good job at distracting me from that fact that I kind of forgot I wasn’t supposed to like it. It does this with a good amount of graphical razzle dazzle as your knight is blasting around the screen, killing the cutsey enemies and collecting items and the like. It also kept me engaged with a bingo-like power-up system where I was picking abilities on a board where matching rows unlock new and greater abilities.
Because of all that, Blast Knights reminds me of Peggle, one of my favorite puzzle-type games of all time which is just simply a gussied up version of pachinko (that has a dash of Breakout thrown in for good measure) with a ton of sass and bells and whistles thrown in to make it seem like more than it is. But that’s not a bad thing, and neither is Blast Knights, so check it out when you get a chance.
