A cool racer with Twisted Metal vibes

The wacky cars, beautiful graphics, and fun map design sparked my curiosity, but the sheer amount of vehicular destruction caught my attention! Something about watching folks go at it on lawnmowers never gets old, but with the sheer amount of content and upgrades available on this mobile port, Wreckfest is a gaming experience the developers clearly didn't want to be cheapened on the mobile version, and it showed as I played through it.

This explains why Wreckfest took up nearly 6GB of data on my phone after downloading all the assets, but I'm not complaining. There were so many vehicles I had access to, and they were all fully customizable, right down to gear ratio and cornering.

Wreckfest has four game modes, but two types of matches are generally available racing and demolition derby. On my iPhone 13, the controls were pretty hard to master for racing, even though it's clear the developers tried their best to make it as playable as possible with a touch screen. Despite this, I wish I had a controller to play this one.

In my playthrough, no one was on the online servers, which definitely sucks because I can only imagine how fun it would be watching a truck trying to wreck a dude on a lawnmower, but despite this, I had real fun in the career mode making my way through the campaign.

For the amount of content I got, Wreckfest was worth the $6.99. I'm keeping this one on my phone, and fingers crossed, they get more folks on the servers for a real multiplayer experience.
