A World of Possibilities: Unraveling the Pros and Cons of Dawnlands' Open World RPG

Dawnlands is a very curious RPG that have elements of adventure and survival genres weaved in. You can do a lot of things in it and it looks nice, but lets see if it have any drawbacks.

PROS

1. Skill system

In Dawnlands you get better with skills as you use them. I love this type of skill growth and it always feels more right than assigning points. You can level your weapon skills, running, jumping, swimming resource gathering and more.

2. Great character customization options

Dawnlands character creation looks fantastic, you can tune your character's face to a very detail creating different face shapes, emotions and looks. You make it look angry, sad, cute. Its up to your imagination.

3. Cool anime graphics

Dawnlands have pretty simple graphics, but at the same it fits the game very nicely. Characters are made in some cartoonish anime style. This type of graphics wont put a strain on your device too much, but will look really good.

4. Interesting gameplay ideas

Dawnlands succeeded in combining several genres in one, creating nice RPG where you can harvest resources, build a house, craft some gear, protect towns  from monster invasions and more. Day and night cycle is also fun, making nights dangerous, where you will encounter powerful enemies. Game feels really fun and interesting.

CONS

1. Low resolution

I am not sure why, but I could only select resolution up to 960p in Dawnlands. Probably because its still in beta and I was using an emulator. I am pretty sure you will be able to select proper resolution on the game release.

2. Low skill variety

If you take a look at Dawnlands's skills you wont see that many. Game is heavily focused on crafting though, so your progression would be based on what gear you can get. I'd like to see some more skills and skill trees, but maybe its just me.

Verdict. Is Dawnlands Good?

Yes.

Dawnlands is a great game with nice graphics and vibe. Day and night mechanics adds a lot to the immersion, crafting progression is fun and rewarding and the story is good. I would just like to see some more rpg elements there, but game is good as it is.
