Continental Geography: Arere, Sacred Snowfield&Nortouahe, Kingdom of Wyverns

Greetings to you, Commander. Arere and Nortouahe, the other two kingdoms of the Aldans Alliance, are more mysterious and have more complex characteristics than Baraigne and Islette. In the Continental Chronicles of Novusaes, they make their appearance on the press stage with a uniqueness that is difficult to replicate.

Arere: The Sacred Snowfield

In the westernmost part of the North, an ancient and mysterious land was located here. This was the wilderness where the northern powers began, and a tree of religion rooted.

The land was barren, dry and harsh, with sparse population. The kingdom progressed as slowly as wheat grew on the ground, breeding obtuse and old-fashioned Areren and forming a dull culture. Even their military was best known for its traditional heavy cavalry.

Arere only spent their pioneering spirit on warfare. For decades, the dispute between scarcely resourced Arere and Nortouahe, the oasis, in the Entvidere region over better land was ongoing and deadlocked, until the Empire advanced northwards and seized strife-torn land, and Princess Frida took over the kingdom's affairs, bringing an end to this conflict.

Although the culture of the kingdom did not show any special features, it became the religious centre of the north, with the Loth Order located here, based on its history and other factors.

Under the harsh living conditions, the people of Arere showed unparalleled piety. Their ancestors' fear of disaster was engraved in their souls, and their descendants were numbed by the pain of the tough conditions. As a result, the tortured people were convinced that this was punishment from the god, and that only unquestioning piety might lead to forgiveness, especially after the northward advance of the south, and the Areren prayed in fear for the mercy of the Almighty One.

This was a barren field for wheat, but a fertile ground for faith. The people devoutly sought after the Almighty One, and beneath the desert lay the dry bones of those who raised their offspring on flesh and blood...

Nortouahe: The Kingdom of Wyverns

Next to Arere, Nortouahe was a paradise. It was a land of lush vegetation and warm weather, where elves and orcs dominated the population, living in harmony with nature and occupying the most fertile land in the north. These races, with their mysterious history and culture, created a land that was sheltered by nature and retains the sorcery and elemental magic of the Old World.

Because it was on the borders of four kingdoms, the military situation in Nortouahe was tense.

To the north, Balene was watching, to the south, Arere was pestering, and Islette was eyeing its hinterland, wondering how to tear out a piece of it. The ability to mediate between the kingdoms without losing ground was due in large part to the excellent beast taming skills of the elves and orcs.

Nortouahe was the main habitat of wyverns, half-bird, half-dragon beasts that roamed the rocky outcrops with a chilling hiss. Drawn to these wild and mysterious creatures, the elven ancestors, who migrated north, built their main town on the rocky outcrop bordering the forest and forged a bond with them that no other race could, and thus made themselves riders of wyverns. With the help of the wyverns, Nortouahe was able to survive and thrive under siege from other kingdoms.

In addition to wyverns, the ruler of Nortouahe was also the one the kingdom looked up to. The Elven king, who was with his people for many generations, seemd to be a kind and gentle man, but in fact he always maintained a firm attitude in diplomacy. Anticipating the invasion of the southern empire, he negotiated an early reconciliation with the other kingdoms and brought his old enemy—Arere into the alliance at the beginning of the Aldans. No one knew how the old man managed to convince the old-fashioned Arere, but it perfectly manifested his exceptional intelligence and remarkable capability of negotiation.
