Continental Chronicles of Novusaes: The Aldans Alliance

Translate
The four kingdoms of the northern continent of Novuseas had been at war for centuries: the oldest Kingdom of Arere, the Kingdom of Baraigne in the far north, the Kingdom of Islette surrounded by two mountains, and the relatively richest Kingdom of Nortouahe. Of these, the elves and orcs shared the rule of Nortouahe, while the remaining three kingdoms were all dominated by humans.
The borders of the four kingdoms were intertwined, and there were constant conflicts and wars between them over resources and territory. But for some geographical and historical reasons, these four countries maintained a delicate balance.
This balance was broken with the start of the North-South War, when the empire quickly breached the borders of the four kingdoms and took control of several significant towns and strongholds of them. As the imperial army pressed on, the leaders of the four kingdoms finally had an unprecedented sense of crisis. The first to suggest an alliance was the kingdom of Baraigne, whose residents were greedy and aggressive, influenced by the environment and their ancestors, resulting in their belligerence and making every one of them veteran in battle.
For generations they had repeatedly invaded Nortouahe and Islette to the west, but as empire’s army approached, the Baraigners had to stop their incursions and put all their forces into resisting the Empire's invasion. But the Baraigners soon found themselves unable to stop the enemy’s advance on their own, so they had to bring their old foes to the same negotiating table.
The first to respond to the alliance was the kingdom of Nortouahe, who had suffered for years from the invasion of the neighbouring kingdoms and who had the richest land in the north. The current ruler, Tardos, was old, but his wisdom accumulated for years told him that this was a unique opportunity.
Tardos quickly signed a truce and cooperation agreement with Baraigne, and managed to persuade Arere to join the alliance with his outstanding diplomatic skills. The momentum was such that the last kingdom, Islette, joined in with hardly any thought. The Alliance of the Four Kingdoms was thus formally established, with Count of Tundarburh, Alonzo Hoysuth of Baraigne as the commander-in-chief of the allied forces, known as the Aldans Alliance.
