Eternights: A Hack'N'Slash, Dating Sim [5-Min. Review]
Eternights is a mishmash of a dating sim and a hack’n’slash put into one. As the debut game of the Korean-based studio, Studio Sai, Eternights takes great inspiration from the social elements of Persona, according to the word of its project director, Jae Hyun Joo.
The question is, does Eternights pull that off?
Eternights is an ambitious game that sets out to do so many things at once. It is clearly emulating Persona with its social elements, which it does not perfectly but admirably. Same can’t be said for the combat in the game, as it definitely needs more polish.
Though certainly not perfect, Eternights is an admirable showing from an independent studio capable of even better if they played to their strengths.
We hope to see more from Studio Sai and whatever projects they have next.
