Lionel Messi is expanding his influence to the world of virtual sports as the new co-owner of KRU Esports.
The World Cup winner will work alongside CEO Sergio Aguero, who founded the organisation in 2020 and developed a dedicated esports fan base in Latin America.

The founder of KRÜ Esports, Sergio Agüero, announced a partnership on social media and other platforms on November 8, 2023, that has caused a stir in the sports and gaming industries.
“I am happy to share a club with Leo, albeit in a new stage and with new challenges. It is an honor that he is part of KRÜ,” commented Agüero in the blog post on the KRÜ website. “He is the greatest football player in history and also a great friend. The blog post also mentioned a celebration party scheduled on December 16th to celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of KRÜ Esports’ new phase.
