Vying for supremacy of this newfound Eden, they scorched the earth in wars of lust and greed, until their insatiable hunger possessed the network itself, giving rise to a "mutagenic substance" both sentient and having extraordinary self-evolution capabilities. Desiring above all to extinguish humanity, it initiated the "Reckoning Protocol," transfiguring the earth into an abyss of grand extinction.
The fight against oblivion has now raged for over half a century. From the unfortunate survivors rose a shadowy organization called the "Self-Ark". They produce Replicants, warriors forged to withstand even the greatest of horrors.
