NIGHTFALL REMAKE IS NOW RELEASED!

Translate
The long awaited NIGHTFALL Remake is now finally completed! Originally planned for a release on May 15, the game was delayed due to me not having any time. Once summer started, development on the game came rapidly, and development was completed on July 5, 2024 and subsequently tested on right after.
There are so many new features, a better game design, and a new layout! Take a look at the new patch notes:
Aarav Patel is a lover of Roman mythology, specifically the God of Fire, "Vulcan". After becoming a little too obsessed and accidentally killing his family in a house fire then proceeding to destroy more property via arson, he ran into the mist while being cornered by an officer, who followed him after.
POWER: Vulcan's Fury Start the game with 3 tokens. Consume a token to spit a 3x3 area of fire in front of you. The fire pit remains active for 15 seconds, and survivors are able to put out the fire. After the entire area of fire is put out, or after the 15 seconds of active time has passed, the fire washes away on its own and lava pools at the location it once was for an additional 10 seconds.
Aarav was fun to test, and we found nothing wrong with his ability. This Controller is able to lock down areas and generators easily and effectively. No changes were made to him after testing.
Not even the mist knows where Evan Aguirre came from. He was always just there and the mist welcomed him with open arms.
POWER: Fade Start the game with the passive ability to crouch. Every 2 minutes, you get a token, and tokens are capped at one. Consume a token to blast plasma at a random survivor. Whichever survivor is hit will receive Blindness for 15 seconds and will have their location revealed to you.
I will never forget the true fear among players in the voice chat when getting jumpscared by The Phantom whenever they were blinded and then being hacked at immediately after. Previously, the Phantom used to have the ability to cause a survivor to levitate for 5 seconds and darken their vision for 5 seconds, but the ability was reworked to just blindness for 15 seconds after testing. We found that The Phantom's levitation ability only made the affected survivor faster and stronger, instead of freezing them in place and revealing them as intended.
Y'all know this one! Originally planned as the old game's February Killer, The Trident swims her way into the mist in the remake as the only new chapter. Casted out of her Turkish village because she was a mermaid and that was taboo and scary for the people there, Dreyda joined the mist searching for acceptance and a shield. She brings a new threat to survivors in the trial, forcing them to be aware during chase.
POWER: Riptide Start the game by passively making the weather rainy. You additionally receive a Trident enchanted with Riptide 1. You get 3 uses of the riptide in between cooldowns, and using the riptide will propel you either forward, upward, or downward depending on where you're aiming. You can damage and slam survivors if you make contact with them while propelling. After 3 uses, your ability goes on cooldown for 20 seconds as it recharges uses.
Originally testing Dreyda, we saw that she was an incredibly overpowered killer. She was intended to have Riptide 2 and no cooldown, and we saw how completely unfair and advantageous that was in testing. After her nerf, she remains a strong killer, but is now weaker in chases and on confined maps or maps with lots of obstacles and blockades.
Rei Kimura was also intended to release alongside Dreyda in the Aquatic Spellhouse Chapter, but the game had shutdown just 2 weeks before their release. Rei joins the game as the first Japanese character, who was sent off to a boarding school after convincing her parents it was a regular school, but instead, it was a spell school! After creating her first prototype spell and becoming famous off of it, the school wanted a share of profit for using their materials, but Rei refused and fled into the woods. running straight into the mist.
PERK: Vitalize Start the game with a single token that does not recharge. Consume a token on a teammate to vitalize them, giving them health regeneration for 45 seconds along with Speed Boost 2 and Jump Boost 2 for 90 seconds. This perk then deactivates for the rest of the game.
We saw no changes needed for Rei during testing and we think of her as a relatively strong survivor, helping teammates stay alive in very clutch moments by vitalizing them. Rei does have a kink in her perk, and if she vitalizes a teammate in chase, the spell could malfunction and accidentally vitalize the killer too, and that isn't good!
Abu joins NIGHTFALL as the first Ghanaian character. Originally intended for the April solo survivor release, Abu joins the game in the remake as an undercover agent who swerved into a misty fog after nearly getting into a major traffic accident.
PERK: Undercover Start the game with a single invisibility potion and a milk bucket. Drink the potion to go invisible for up to 3 minutes or until you drink the milk. While invisible, you can not open exit gates or interact with Beacons, but you can still rescue. This perk deactivates after the 3 minutes expires or you drink milk.
We also saw no changes needed for Abu during testing and think of him as a good survivor when he knows the Killer is on the way and needs to flee into the shadows until they leave. Also being able to rescue while invisible helps keep the killer's attention away from trapped survivors, getting them out discreetly.
The Spellhouse map is the only new map to join NIGHTFALL in the remake, originally intended to have released alongside The Trident and Rei Kimura. This map is unique, coming with a decently sized spellschool as a main building, corrupted by the mist, along with two decently sized lakes, one with a bridge, and lots of loops and terrain.
Originally intended to release in February alongside Aquatic Spellhouse, Season 7: Fade Out joins the remake. As promised, The Ghost and Tyler Beck are our characters this season, and completing master challenges can unlock fragments from their past. Completing the premium track of the season will give you Tyler Beck's Wilted Flower mythic item along with The Ghost's Student of the Month Trophy mythic, two major heirlooms from their story.
Season 7 will last until August 31, 2024, the traditional 56-day seasons, giving players more than enough time to complete the Rift Pass and buy the premium track to obtain these mythic items.
OG NIGHTFALL players remember when we used trapdoors as pallets that survivors would close while looping the Killer and the Killer would have to break them. Those were removed swiftly due to the pallets not being obeyed and having no value.
We are prototyping pistons as pallets in the remake. Pistons are now placed at some loops with a lever on each side that survivors can use to close them and slow the killer down. The killer can either reopen it, as simple as that, or break both levers, which takes some time but then renders the piston completely unusable.
During testing, we saw pallets have a bit of value and want to test it more in the main game. If we see issues with the pallets, they will be removed again.
The lobby has been updated to look way more visually pleasing than in the last game and a bit more organized. Now, players spawn in a confined room with signs that give credits and explain the game very briefly. When they leave that room, they can either enter the "Play" room, which has voting for gamemodes and character information, the "Shops" room, which has the Shard Shop, Rift Pass, and will also house Event Shop boards, or they could enter the "Hub" room, which shows Killer/Survivor names and their weapons/abilities respectively, tome challenges, event challenges, and the Offerings shop. Lastly, there is a room that shows XP rewards and the XP board along with a leaderboard.
The new lobby also has walls tall enough to hide the maps so you can't peer into where we keep the maps at.
Originally, escaping a trial in NIGHTFALL would allow you to roam freely around the map until you were caught by me and respawned. Now, exit gates have changed to where as soon as you escape, you fall right into a void and immediately sent back to the lobby. No more running away. You also can't re-enter the map after escaping as well.
The Alien chapter, which arrived with The Xenomorph and Ellen Ripley, has received an update. The Xenomorph has been removed from the game in full and will have his own farewell event around their added-anniversary in September, and Ellen Ripley has been renamed and redesigned to Ellen Kolly in order to wipe unoriginal characters from the game.
Aarav Patel, The Vulcan, is the Killer that replaced The Xenomorph.
The NIGHTFALL's Back! event joins the game from July 6 to July 27, featuring all new Party decorations in the lobby, challenges, an event shop, and a minigame!
>>>All new EVENT CHALLENGES<<<
Event challenge collections last 10 days each and award 15 crystals, 5 shards, and 5 candy upon completion. Event challenges have fun party/anniversary puns as names with one quest relating to the party while the other two quests, 1 killer quest and 1 survivor quests, having party puns while still being regular-game challenges. Enjoy event challenges to collect the event currency and buy limited items to keep as a souvenir or sell for Shards!
>>>New event currency: Candy<<<
Players can collect Candy from completing event challenges and use it to buy either the ECHO SHARD EXOTIC MYTHIC, which sells for 200 shards, or a legendary or a rare mythic item. Don't eat your candy!
>>>New event minigame: "Take a Gamble"<<<
The return event brings about a new thing we're trying, MINIGAMES, and this specific one is called "Take a Gamble". You can only play Take a Gamble if you have 30 Candy. You can play the game by betting all 30 Candy during intermission and then you'll be teleported in front of 3 vaults and given a key. If you unlock the correct vault, you win back your 30 candy and you get 128 Shards! If you unlock the wrong vault, you lose your candy and get nothing.
>>>New game modifier: NIGHTFALL's Back!<<<
Queue up for the unrated new game modifier, NIGHTFALL'S BACK! that will be in the game for the duration of the event. In modified rounds, every player spawns with 5 cupcakes along with their regular kit. You can eat a cupcake to get a very temporary speed boost. Only the Mineshafts, Graveyard, Iron Tower, and Asylum maps are available in the gamemode.
We hope you enjoy the event!
The game, originally only made for Xbox, now has PC support (just as long as you have an Xbox account), since it has been made on a PC and can now have LFG posts for PC. Cross-play will be permitted as PC has no advantages Xbox does not for either side. Now, you can meet PC players as an Xbox player or Xbox players as a PC player, and you can play the game from either platform!
Some final notes and info on the game:
Developers have worked hard to get the game done as soon as possible while still high quality. We all appreciate the support over the years and we can't wait for the game to evolve with us as we grow as people and players alike. Happy hunting, and we'll see you in the mist!
