First ever official payday game on mobile. dies before it fully releases.
When payday 3 was announced after a decade of support for payday 2, hype for the gang of heisters returning from retirement to clean out banks was a buzz. Then out of nowhere a mobile spinoff of payday dubbed "PAYDAY:Crime war" comes out.
Was it any good? No. Far from good. I can't even call it mid. It's that bad. The fun of doing heist was completely taken out of the game. The challenging cops that have a roster of great members that specializes in many ways of capturing the gang. Was reduced to nothing more but brain dead ai that walks in and shoots. Wheres the cloakers? Medics? Bulldozers? The iconic taunts that these cops say out loud when they get you? Gone. The amount of cops that respond doesn't change no matter how long you stay. A game all about heisting doesn't make the heisting fun. Excuse me but what?
The skill system is directly taken from payday 2. But cut down in half. With most skills missing thus making certain builds hard or basically impossible. (We know why.) Perks are entirely removed for no particular reason. Why? More on it later.
Why are the heists boring and feels like you stole money from a nursing home? Your telling me 2~3 duffle bags of jewels only net us 2.5k cash? How? What dark magic was done for it to only net us 2.5k?? Not to mention the money you get is almost useless as weapons and gear are only obtained via a safe that unlocks after X amount of hours. (Similar to the chests you get after a match in clash royale) cash is only used to do upgrades. That's it. Might as well use it as fuel for a fireplace.
Now my main gripe with this game. Why is pvp a thing?? Why are we stealing our own money?? The pvp aspect feels so shoe horned in it's blatant that they only added it to retain what little players they garnered. They neutered the heisting experience and added a stupid pvp gamemode. No wonder it's dead on arrival. The whole point of payday is working together to steal whatever it is that's worth stealing. There's a reason people make the meme of "guys, the moon. Go steal it" not go up against fellow payday members for "our" cash. And now we know why perks are missing and half of the available skills are missing. It's due to PvP. With how overpowered certain builds can get, (literally dodging bullets) they couldn't balance them in time so opted to remove some of them entirely. Just so they can shoe horn in the stupid pvp gamemode more.
Now with the game being closed down not even a year after "release" why did they even create such an awful spinoff? Why not actually do a good mobile version of payday? This will not only rake in good cash but also introduce alot of people to the payday storyline. Oh well, we will never know. Just be glad this horrid garbage is no longer available.
