Cells is made up of multiple modes, all designed around realistic models of single-celled organisms:

RapidEvolution - A clicker/idle game in a petri dish. Experiment by altering conditions to evolve new genetic traits. Complete tasks to upgrade your lab tools.

RapidEvolution Sandbox - A fully unlocked simulation with all available genetic traits and lab tools. Create a ever-changing flux of digital life on your desktop. Unlocked after completing RapidEvoultion.

WinColumn - Build a Winogradsky Column layer-by-layer. Learn about the many metabolic niches single-celled organisms occupy. Once complete, observe a metabolic 'perpetual motion machine' on your desktop.
