Pitstop in Purgatory

Pitstop in Purgatory is a point-and-click visual novel developed and published by Tymedust Games, and let me tell you, it's a real gem. Now, I must admit, I don't usually play these kinds of games, and it can be tough to make a review for a game that is mostly story and less gameplay. However, this game pleasantly surprised me. You take on the role of Astrid, a young up-and-coming actress who wakes up in Purgatory after her untimely death.

Pitstop in Purgatory is a visual novel / adventure game full of story and thought-provoking ideas. Originally made for PC in a surprising two-month timeframe, it is now available as well for Android. You play as Astrid, a frustrated young actress who recently died. She wakes up and finds herself in the afterlife, but it’s not Heaven or Hell. It’s something close to a Purgatory, sothat’s what they call it for her. At the start, she doesn’t remember her death and is in a state of confusion.

Sometimes a great location is all it takes to make a game really shine. Pitstop in Purgatory is the perfect example of that, presenting players with a compellingly weird version of the afterlife that's full of mystery and intrigue. I took on the role of Astrid, a young woman who dies at the beginning of the game. Death is just the beginning, though, as she wakes up in a strange place—neither heaven nor hell, but somewhere in between—and must figure out how to keep going forward.

I was amazed that the game really has an interpretation of life in purgatory. Being clueless about so many things as you are wandering around the area solving the puzzle, the game really gives you this cliffhanger that makes you want to progress further through the game to uncover how the main character ended up where she is. This is definitely worth my purchase.

I have always been curious about the concept of life after death and having a game like this really fuels your imagination of what it is like to be in purgatory. Well, who isn't? Alongside that, the game has so many puzzles that you need to solve to progress to the game, which makes it much more addictive to play. For a small price, it definitely lived up to its price, and I can't wait to play it during my past time.

The graphics are a bit eerie for me, but I can't get enough of so many puzzles to solve that it makes me play it even further. 😲 I am intrigued by the storyline of Astrid as she progresses and discovers her identity as to who she is, and how she ended up in the middle world. Honestly, for a small price in the Play Store, I think this game is really great, and I would definitely love to see this through.
