In the other side the Merchants want to put an end to it, as they believe trading is the future of economy. In the middle of all of that is King Aethelred, struggling to keep the Kingdom together while finding a solution. Anastasia, Artemisia and Lozen, three mercenaries who roam the Kingdom's roads looking for work and people to help, are seen by the King as the possible solution to keep the peace, even if only temporally.
