The Devil In Me is the recent installment for the Dark pictures Anthology. By far this is one of my favorite “episodes” or tales that really pushes the super heavy inducing anxiety I received from this game. dark pictures love to throw twists or there iterations of events like The Quarry was a werewolf story, House of Ashes is a vampire story and so on well this time we leave the supernatural realm and step into the serial killer world. The story of The Devil In Me is based on a true story of America's Very first Serial Killer and the most famous one at that. If you're a serial killer documentary nerd like me then during the prologue will have you do wait a minute moment. As the game takes place in a hotel and only one man runs the hotel that goes by the name Henry Howard Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes is a familiar name to most, but have you also heard of Henry Howard Holmes, or as he is more widely known, H. H. Holmes? In the prologue to The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, this nefarious hotelier and his murderous ways are introduced. In 1893, Holmes offered “shelter” to many visitors to the World’s Fair in Chicago at his World’s Fair Hotel...and many of these unfortunate guests fell victim to Holmes’s deadly traps shortly after check-in.
